For both the folks who work from home and work full-time, what are your offline hobbies? (This goes for stay at home mothers or fathers also). Yes after a hard day in the office working your tail off, you tend to want to kick back and relax on the computer chatting on Facebook or other sites but that is not a hobby at all. A hobby is something like walking a few miles each day, taking your kids out to the park or just spending time with them in general. Don’t always spend countless hours online and forget to live your life.
I understand that the people who work from home technically never get a day off nor get away from there work because their job might need them to be online almost all day and night. You can hire an employee to cover certain hours so you can live your life a little. It could be unhealthy to be a workaholic and not have a hobby to look forward to doing everyday or every weekend. For me, my hobby is going to car shows with my father when I have free time on the weekend. My dad hired me as his landscaper so I’m at his house on Saturday or Sunday doing the hard work and making the outside look good. If I have time, I’ll head on over to the car show to show my support for him and wish I owned every car in the parking lot. lol
My other hobbies are going to professional sporting events. I have the Sunday season ticket package to a professional baseball team. Got about 14 games per year and I purchase playoff and word series tickets if they make it that far. After a long week working and taking care of my blog, drinking a few cold ones at the baseball game with my father and brother is just what the doctor ordered. If I had kids, I would be teaching them how to play sports or making sure I don’t miss a practice or a game. Don’t neglect your family because your job or online job demands a lot of work hours everyday. If you don’t have “pre set” work hours for your online business then do this now and stick to those hours. Get off that computer and do something.
Trust me, you will feel refreshed when you take some time away from the busy work life and do something that makes you happy that involves not being online. My point of this blog post is to get you to pickup a hobby or something that does not involve being online. Does your parents or kids think you spend more time online than with them? Don’t let that happen to you. My mom does Crocheting in her spare time and sells her creations at arts and craft show’s. When she is stressed out or pissed off at my dad, she goes in her office and makes something. Next day she is fine and not upset with my dad. Her hobby is her stress reliever for both work and from my dad. Hey, being married over 34 years can be tough if you ever met my dad. lol
So, what are your hobbies that does not involve being online or using an electronic device?
