I don’t work from home but I do have an idea what can happen if I was to work from home and have unlimited access to food in the other room or junk food that can be bought across the street from me. Working in an office I’m not close to the break room to get some junk food or unhealthy food is what they serve. I tend to bring my dinner to work because for starters I know the food has not expired yet or near the expire date. Anyways, if you work from home, I’m sure you have developed some bad eating habit’s that might of put a few pounds on yourself. Are you eating healthy or snack on junk food while working at the PC?
Let me list one thing that you could replace Junk food with that I think is a healthy snack.
- Carrot sticks – This is a good snack to nibble on while reading online or doing normal work stuff online instead of eating chocolate chip cookies or a whole bag of potato chips. In fact, anything in the vegetable group is a good snack to nibble on while at the PC at home.
The problem with working from home and I have a few friends that do this in my town is that since you don’t get out much, you don’t watch what you are eating or buying in the stores. Then one day you notice that you gained a lot of pounds and have a hard time getting those pounds off since you sit at the computer desk 8 to 12 hours a day with your only exercise is walking to the kitchen to get that bag of nacho’s and hot nacho cheese to snack on. If you buy healthy foods then you can eat as much as you want while working all day long at home. If you eat junk food or food you know is not healthy all day long, you will put the pounds on that might give you trouble trying to take them off.
Stay fit when working at home and it starts with eating healthy and getting out of the house for a bit each day getting some sort of exercise. Just take a walk about the block a few times, if you have a dog… go outside and play with the dog chasing his favorite tennis ball around. Remember to not pick up the ball in your mouth like he does. The point I’m trying to make really is even though you work from home and not really in the public eye, you can’t let yourself put on a lot of pounds by eating whatever you want. You don’t get much exercise sitting at the computer all day from the folks who work in an office and tend to get up a lot to walk around to different area’s that’s part of their job. I get plenty of exercise at my job but I don’t eat too much junk food.
Your kids will pickup on your bad eating habit’s so if you want them to eat healthy starting at a young age, you need to set the good example and not only stay away from the bad foods, you should just not buy them so your kid won’t eat them. Yea, they will still buy that candy bar at the store but they need money for that and you have the money till they get a Job. Most of the time over-weight can lead to bad health problems and you need to think about your family. They love you and want you to live forever so stop eating unhealthy foods, although it’s ok to splurge once and awhile on special occasion’s but don’t eat a whole bag of barbecue potato chips in 1 hour while emailing clients.
