Is your blog running on the Genesis Framework? Do your currently use the “eNews and Updates” widget on your blog? With Google’s feedburner API being shutdown this month, this widget will bring your problem’s. Before you get freaked out, Brian Gardner the CEO of StudioPress reached out to a community member who had a plugin. The plugin which is called Genesis eNews Extended will have the fix for you. He has stated on the official StudioPress blog that this plugin will be maintained and updated not like other plugins we tend to wish get updated.
When StudioPress release’s the Genesis Framework version 1.9 the “eNews and Updates” widget will be deprecating it and when version 2.0 of the framework comes out, this widget will be removed. It’s best to install this recommended plugin right now and remove the current widget so you can upgrade your framework and not have to edit any widget’s to make sure the stuff in there works. No release date on Genesis 1.9 framework. Heck, I’m not sure if they started the beta testing or now but I can look into this next week. If the beta version ever comes out in the future, I’m going to use it on this blog and blog about it.

Anyways, the Genesis eNews Extended was just updated this past Oct. 4 2012 and is ready to be installed right now. I don’t use this widget or “plugin” on this blog but may in the future. I’m just blogging about this incase you are using this widget or going to in the near future. If you are not a fan of the StudioPress theme’s then why not look through my list of WordPress themes and find something that interests you.
Have a great weekend!
