To answer this question, Yes car insurance is needed to drive your car on the road. Come on, you got to be crazy to not drive without car insurance. Not only would you get in trouble with the law, you will be held liable for all damages if you was involved in a car accident. This would cost you an arm and a leg for sure and I know you don’t have a ton of money sitting in your savings account to pay off the person who is taking you to court. In fact, even if you do have car insurance, you could still be sued. I have a great deal at progressive car insurance and I did shop around to find out the best deal for what options I wanted in my package. I’m not going to convince you to buy car insurance from a certain company but link you to Google to search for insurance companies to get a quote from. —->car insurance
Even if you have car insurance right now, you could actually find a better deal with the same package or extra features that cost less money or a few bucks more. It’s better to be very prepared then to have no insurance and face the possibility of getting sued for thousands of dollars. Back in the day when me and my brother was 17 and 18 years old (Dang that a long time ago), I was cutting the grass at my parents house and my brother was about to pull out of the driveway. We had lived on a curve in the road so if cars was speeding around the curve in the road (Speed limit was 25mph) they would be at risk of hitting someone as they wouldn’t have enough time to stop. My brother looked both ways of course before pulling out but BAM, he got side swiped by a neighbor that lived 3 house down from us. In fact, this women’s husband was my dad’s best friend. (Not any longer and will explain why)
He is the real kicker, this woman worked for a car insurance company and ended up suing my dad for xx,xxx because of pain and suffering or what we called a fake back injury. If she was doing 25mph like the speed limit said around the curve she would have had plenty of time to slam on the breaks and not hit my brothers car in which he was just pulling out of the driveway. My dad’s friendship ended when we got sued and no way my pop’s could have won the lawsuit as she had the car insurance companies big league lawyer fighting for her. Basically the lawsuit should have never happened but this bitch was driving a Lexus 3 weeks later and it was from the lawsuit money she had won. She didn’t have any back injuries as I seen her doing yard work a few weeks after which involved planting stuff and putting strain on the back. I got more anger inside still about this but will end the story.
Since my dad had car insurance and of course home owners insurance, the large lawsuit was paid for but you know how it goes when your insurance company pays off a lawsuit, your bill might go up a tad just like if you was in a car accident, your car insurance bill is subject to a price increase for the next 3 year’s. If my brother didn’t have car insurance on his car at that time, he wouldn’t have been able to pay to get it fixed. He paid his deductible and had a little price increase but it didn’t cost him an arm and a leg. Plus he worked part-time and my parents taught us responsibility and said we had to pay for all car issues no matter what happen’s. Ma and Pa did pay for lawyers if we wanted to fight speeding tickets. lol
The moral of this story is to find a great deal on car insurance and plan for the worse. If you was to get in a serious accident and the other party has some serious injuries, your coverage better be good because you might end up being sued besides having your insurance company paying that other person’s car damage and maybe even hospital bill’s. If you have no car insurance you could end up in jail besides the judge in court throwing the book at you. I know for me to get a car loan for my current car, they wouldn’t approve it not unless I showed them proof I had car insurance on my current old car I had at that time.
If you can’t afford car insurance then don’t drive. If someone hit my car and had no car insurance, I’d be a dick and sue you because I’m not getting stuck with the bill when it was your fault for hitting my car and causing all the damages.
Have a safe week.
