Bad Car Day – A Day That You Just Want To Forget About

Have you ever just had a bad car day? What I mean by this is something going wrong with your car, ticket’s, accident…etc. I ran into my bad car day when I did not need for anything to go wrong this past Saturday. To paint you a picture before I spill the beans, I was working for my Uncle up north in Jersey City near New York. In fact I was able to grab a picture of the Freedom Tower from our street we was working on. I’ll post the picture later in this blog post. Anyways this past 4 month’s I’ve worked for my Uncle about 2 to 3 weekends a month at his carnival business. It’s a 1 and half hours to his business but then we have to drive to the site which could be further drive. I am putting a lot of miles on my car this year and the wear and tear that goes along with driving long distances. My day started out bad at our location spot for the festival.

FYI: That’s our cotton candy trailer on the right with the flags on it.

We had 6 trailers that we was driving up to our location so me and my cousin (works with us) was waiting in my car listening to my radio making sure no one else parked on our side of the street that we had to ourselves for our rides and game’s. It was about 1 hour between loads as we was so close to NY for our job. I should have left the car running while listening to the radio and not have the car off running on just the battery. We I had to move my car so my Uncle could back the tailor into my spot, I couldn’t start the car. WTF, the battery had not enough juice to kick over. My portable jumper cables of course I left home which was about 2 and half hour drive at this point. Lucky that my Uncle had them since he plan’s for all kinds of bad situation’s and has room in his trailer’s to add these types of things. So I got my car started and let if run for a while to make sure the battery was charged. My battery problem was fixed and we setup the show.

After breaking down the rides and game’s, packed up the trailers to be towed away, me and my cousin went to my car that I parked 1 street over. In the morning I noticed there was these parking meters that you have to put money in to be able to park there for a certain amount of hour’s. My dumbass thought since the festival was right there as in 1 street (block) over that they would not ticket people since they could have been at the festival. Well, I got a parking ticket when I checked my windshield around Midnight ready to drive back to the house I was sleeping at for the weekend. It’s only a $29 ticket but I was just pissed off that there was no free parking anywhere for workers of the festival. The township should have let the expired meters go for 1 day only but this is the real world and townships need to make money to pay their police force. I have to pay this ticket because I’m still going to work for my uncle if he needs help on the weekend’s. Can’t get a boot on my car because I have an unpaid parking ticket. lol

Saturday I started out the day pissed off my battery died and ended the night pissed off that I got my first parking ticket ever. (I got speeding tickets before but not a parking ticket)

Moral of this story is: Carry a portable jumper cables box with you that’s fully charged all the time and don’t assume that parking meters will be shut off for special events around the corner.

Do you have any bad car day’s that you would like to briefly share in the comment box?
